WHS Governing Bodies

The World Handicap System is governed by the R&A for all international countries, with the exception of the US and Mexico who are governed by the USGA.  The R&A and the USGA work in partnership to manage and maintain the standards across all areas of golf participation, from rules, to handicaps to approved standards of equipment.

Within the World Handicap System, each national governing body for golf, will manage and maintain the handicaps for all golfers within their geographic boundaries.  To find learn more please click on your own countries logo below or email us at with a link to your countries WHS page.
