Brenda King Medal Foursomes
Brenda King was the inaugural winner of the British Open Senior Ladies’ Amateur Championship in 1981. Brenda represented England in France in 1984, Holland in 1985 and in Sweden in 1986. Brenda was passionate about obtaining the recognition of the English Senior Ladies, by the Ladies Golf Union, together with Prue Riddiford, against much opposition from the LGU, set up the English Senior Ladies’ Association, gaining sponsors including M&S who provided uniforms for the above team event.
The Brenda King Medal Foursomes was founded in her honour and is currently run by a committee of passionate senior women.
The Brenda King Foursomes is open to women 50 and over on the first day of the competition with WHS HI 20.4 and below.
