Women have been creating and delivering their own golf experience since 1893, when the first group of Women Golfers got organised and this has continued ever since, within Golf Clubs, County Associations, Individual Golf Societies, Senior Women – Veteran Ladies Golf Associations and independent initiatives led by individual women.

Some current initiatives are documented below, this is not an exhaustive list, as women are creative and inventive when it comes to creating and delivering their golf experience and the channels through which they organise and manage themselves both online and offline.

The Scottish Womens Amateur Golf Tour is the most recent Womens Golf initative, launched in 2024, by PGA Fellow Alan Tait, supported by PGA Professionals across Scotland.
The 2025, tour boasts 15 venues across Scotland, for amatuer women to sign up and play in, with an annual order of merit, culminating in a finals day at the World Famous, Cabot Highland Castle Stuart course in September.
A welcome addition to the Womens golf schedule.
Women’s Golf Day (WGD) is a global movement that Engages, Empowers, and Supports women and girls through golf and facilities them learning the skills that last a lifetime.
Founded by, Elisa Gaudet who was inspired to create a global event that unites women around the world through golf and encourages opportunities to introduce golf to new players and celebrate existing players.
Since its inception in 2016, more than 1,350 locations golf locations in over 85 countries have hosted a Women’s Golf Day and has developed a sustainable model through scaling globally and engaging partners to ensure the program continues each year.
WGD is a proven player development platform that is supported by The R&A, USGA & The PGA of America as well as many other organizations, federations, governing bodies and industry leaders.
 Women’s Golf Day brings together a team of industry leaders, governing bodies and global ambassadors which reflect the international community.

The LPGA Amatuer was formed in 2018, when the LPGA acquired the Executive Womens Golf Association (EWGA),  and since then has developed the amatuer association in to over 130 chapters with over 15,500 women golfers across tNorth America and the Carribean.
The LPGA Amatuers is an online community of women golfers, who play within their local chapters, members can be a member of more than one chapter and enter chapter events as well as regional and national events organised the the LPGA Amateur Team.  In addition the LPGA Amatuer team provide

  • Tournament and Event Software
  • Online and in person golf lessons and clinics with LPGA members
Women Who Golf was set up by Tuscanny Williams in June 2019, to enabale Women Golfers to meet and support other female casual golfers worldwide.
Women Who Golf is the largest facebook group for Women Golfers as of January 2025 with over 90,300 members, plus an additional 5,700 followers on Instagram.
Women share their golf journeys and stories, ask for advice relating to golf trips, clothing and equipment.

Women and Golf is an online Womens Golf News Magazine, Golfer Community, Events organiser and Online Shop.
Originally a print magazine, Women and Golf moved to be a digital channel and has grown through engaging with women golfers online and through their social media channels.

UK Womens
Golf Community
Facebook Group

The UK Womens Golf Community launched in January 2022, with the goal of providing a platform for younger women, new to golf to come together online and also to have regular meet ups at Driving Ranges across the UK.
The UK Womens Golf Community has 10,100 members as of January 2025, with active whats app groups across the country provding information about the meetups and enabling women golfers to find local golf buddies to meet up and play courses.

The Womens Golf Lounge
Facebook Group

The Womens Golf Lounge is a Facebook Group with 14,900, mostly UK based members, (Jan 2025).
Setup during COVID to bring women golfers together online, to share golf stories and experiences and developing in to a golf event, for both women only and mixed golf events and more recently golf coaching trips and holidays.
The The Ladies Golf Tour, offer a well organised and fun pairs tournament, which includes an element of competition, with prizes and the opportunity to spend time with like-minded women golfers.
